MICHIGAN CITY MIDNIGHT HOOPS
In Michigan City, Indiana, two residents re-launched a the Michigan City Midnight Hoops after participating in our Unlocking Neighborhood Gifts workshop. Molly and Shellaya now host a summer youth program where students get the chance to play basketball in order to lower crime rates and give youth something positive to do over summer. "These moments are reminders that the program is more than just basketball—it is about connection, mentorship, and creating a sense of community." |

CONNECTED COMMUNITY COALITION
In Mount Pleasant, MI, we're partnering with the Foundation for Social Connection to create opportunities for belonging and trust-building. At a recent game night, one participant shared: "Hearing my husband’s robust laughter at game night, when he was playing at a different table with people he’d never met before was great. He works from home and has limited social connections. He has continued to talk about that night and the people (several college students) he met and played games with. He got connected when I told him we were going and had more fun than he expected." |
